Why is the sub-titles missing when I transfer a downloaded video onto a disc ?

video titles
lebohrayapeel asked:

When I viewed the downloaded video from the PC it carrys sub-titles. However, when it is transfered onto a disc and played back on a player there is no sub-titles. What caused the sub-titles to be left out and how do I ensure that the sub-titles appear on the video during transfer onto disc ? Thank You.
